The Importance of Memories

A unscheduled holiday is announced by the speakers of the community. Lily, Jonas and his parents were surprised. Everything seem rare because it never happened, it was a very good thing for it to do. When holidays happened , adults were exempted from work, children from school and training our volunteer hours. At this point, Jonas hasnt taken the pills for almost four weeks. His stirrings came back and he was a bitt embaraced about what he dreamed. After all this, he knew that he couldnt go back to the world of no feelings he had live for so long. He started thinking that his feelings also came from the memories he recieved. By this point of the book he could see all the colors, but most important, he could keep them. He is also starting to think that theres an elsewhere that things came from and an elsewhere that things go. Jonas is realising that when Lily said he was angry becausa a kid broked the rules in the playing area, he sees that it isnt true, that normal people havent , never, experienced feelings. Psssheeewww!!! was the only thing that Jonas heard, he starts getting frustraded because he is the only one that knows what is real warfare and his friends are playing like if war was just a game. He tries to explain what he thinks, but obviously his friends would not understand him, they just think he ruined the game.

By this point of the book, I starting changing my perspective because at fist I thought that Jonas would be the hero of the story and that he could change history, but now, I think and starting realising that Jonas sees that he cant change something, he cant do a major change, so he starts seing the importance of memories and that that is the reason that people dont understand him, because of memories. People wont undertsand him because he is the only one who has memories and feelings. Thats why sometimes he feels lonely .... and he says that the worst things about memories is not always staying with them, is the loneliness of thoose..

There are tons of examples about this quote in our daily life. Sometime we dont see the important things in the moments that dont seem much important, and when we lose those moment with some person ... we notice that they once were important. Five days ago my granpa died. Evendough he wasnt the father of MY father, I did loved him, he was the best grandpa I could ever asked for. Know I regret dont spending so much time with him, or prefering to be doing other things that spending time with him. But now things are done and the only thing I have from him are MEMORIES, and I value very much that now ...

Going back to the book after all the things mentioned before, we get to know what is release...

Jonas father has been killing babies all his carieer. He does not have the fault because he dosnt have the knowledge to know what is killing, but Jonas is very surprised of what his father does. We also nos know that Rosemary was The Givers daughter ....

The Importance of Colors

IMAGINE   our world without colors ...

Jonas is now starting to see all the colors our normal life has. We see colors every day, eventually we never stop watching thoose. Just imagine... it would be like watching an old movie , but in would be your life.  Further in the chapters, The Giver transfers Jonas the
memory of animal poacing wich is then tried to be
passses to Lily, but he cannot because Lily does not has the capacity to see beyond. "Is just that without the memories its all meaningfull."  When this frase comes into play I thought many things. Jonas is starting to see many things that other people cant, experience things that the majority of the population had never even thought about , hes taking the decisions that are going to influence in a good or bad way in depth in the story, like decide to to take the stirrings pill.. Hes also noticing that its not fair that other people cant see or do what he does. Hes also changing his perspective and his point of view about life of what is really meaningfull in it. For example, when he sees all his friends playing like if there would be a war, hes very frustraded becuase he knows that the other kids havent get the memory and they dont know what it really feel like and they take it as a game. Maybe in his inside he is trying too see a way to communicate all his thoughts to his friends, but he cant because of his rules.

Finaly I enojoyed the most when at the end of chapter 16 The Giver decides to give Jonas the memory of love, I think things are also going to change becuase of the Giver's decicion. One effect are the pills , so lets see what happens next !!
